  10.        This chapter lists supplemental information to the _I_R_I_S
  11.        _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e.  The information listed here is
  12.        product- and release-specific; use it with the Installation
  13.        Guide to install this product.

  15.        Dynaweb is a CGI program meant to be executed by an existing
  16.        HTTP server (such as the Netscape Fasttrack or Enterprise
  17.        server), allowing web-based viewing of online documentation
  18.        locally available via the IRIS InSight tool.
  19.  
  20.        Unlike previous (prior to version 3.x) releases of Dynaweb,
  21.        this version is _n_o_t a standalone web server. Therefore,
  22.        version 3.x and greater represents a substantial change in
  23.        the method by which the functions of Dynaweb are installed
  24.        and accessed.

  39.        This section lists the subsystems (and their sizes) of
  40.        Dynaweb.

  42.        If you are installing this product for the first time, the
  43.        subsystems marked ``default'' are the ones that are
  44.        installed if you use the ``go'' menu item.  To install a
  45.        different set of subsystems, use the ``install,''
  46.        ``remove,'' ``keep,'' and ``step'' commands in _i_n_s_t to
  47.        customize the list of subsystems to be installed, then
  48.        select the ``go'' menu item.

  50.        Note:  The listed subsystem sizes are approximate. Refer to
  51.               the _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e for information

  81.        All of the subsystems for Dynaweb can be installed using
  82.        IRIX.  You do not need to use the miniroot. Refer to the
  83.        _I_R_I_S _S_o_f_t_w_a_r_e _I_n_s_t_a_l_l_a_t_i_o_n _G_u_i_d_e for complete installation
  84.        instructions.

  88.        Dynaweb requires that the latest _i_n_s_i_g_h_t__b_a_s_e._s_w._e_o_e be
  89.        installed.  You should also have some IRIS InSight books
  90.        installed.

  103.        The Dynaweb installation links your existing IRIS InSight
  104.        library location into your HTTP server's document root. By
  105.        default, the command is as follows:

  110.        InSight library location _O_R your HTTP server's document root
  111.        differ from the defaults shown above, please execute this
  112.        command (via a shell) with the correct values.

  115.        Dynaweb now runs as a CGI (Common Gateway Interface)
  116.        process.  Most HTTP servers from SGI ship configured for
  117.        Dynaweb to run properly.  For example, Dynaweb will work
  118.        with any server instance of Fasttrack (2.01, 3.02, etc.) or
  119.        Enterprise (2.01, 3.0, etc.) that has been correctly
  120.        configured.
